Srinagar, Sep 11 (KNO): Calling the campaign a reflection of respect for the nurturing spirit of motherhood and a step to reinforce environmental stewardship, V.P. Singh, Director at the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, on Thursday said the Regional Fodder Station (RFS) Srinagar has launched Special Campaign 5.0 with a plantation drive titled ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’.
Speaking at the RFS Srinagar, Singh said the initiative aims to integrate cleanliness, sustainability and green practices with the department’s broader goals of rural development and livestock productivity.
“Such initiatives not only contribute to environmental well-being but also inspire communities to adopt eco-friendly practices,” he said as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO)
Moreover, the officials said ‘Special Campaign 5.0’ will be carried out in two phases, as Preparatory Phase from September 15 to 30 and Implementation Phase from October 2 to 31, which will cover scrap disposal, e-waste management, record streamlining and the plantation campaign.
They added that RFS Srinagar plays a vital role in training farmers in fodder cultivation, conservation and utilization across Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, ensuring year-round nutritious feed for livestock and improving farmers’ livelihoods—(KNO)
